PROJECT STATEMENT
Import, a series of videos of container ships, oil tankers, and extravagant cruise ships from the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Tokyo, addresses the relationship between the current global economy and the postcolonial legacy of international trade. These ports are at the heart of consumerism. The scale is grand and the movement is fast-paced and expansive.
